New Website Design!
UPDATE: November 27, 2009 — Created and uploaded a new header for the website, using a still grab from my short film, “Autumn Memories” and the Pro Type Titler in my NLE, Sony Vegas Pro. I used Arial and Bodoni as type faces and did some custom kerning to make the letter spacing more balanced, as well as adding a subtle drop shadow to make the letters pop out of the image. I wanted to go for a “magazine look,” and centered the new blog title “Digital Storytelling” over the main column, while the “Green Media Production” is visually left-justified with the invisible line defined by the left edge of the top and left sidebars. I used the lines of the leaf to guide the eye between the two text blocks. With this change, my blog is beginning to look like a web magazine, versus just a place to post my work. It’s really nice to be able to do all this web design work by myself using the flexible “Vigilance” WordPress theme by Jestro.

Today I took some time to update my website. The new look is cleaner, easier to navigate and to read, and is completely built by me using the really versatile WordPress theme “Vigilance” by Drew Strojny. The banner at the top of the page is a shot I took on my recent web video expedition to Canada — it’s a fantastic view of Gander Lake, Newfoundland, in early October 2009. Shot in HD and graded in Magic Bullet Looks 1.2. Hopefully the pages are simply organized making it easy to find what you’re looking for, from examples of my work to reviews or tutorials. Let me know if I can help you in any way.
